“Why does the bottom of the blade rust after a few months of normal wear? Is this toxic if goes through blade and into juice? Sometimes motor gives off a burnt smell also.”

You need to ensure your pieces are completely dry before reattaching for storage. Shaking out some of the water before placing it in dish rack would also help. Is rust Toxic? I think if you google it you can find your answers best to that question.
