• HiFimeDIY Tiny USB Dac , 3.5 jack / rca cable .....this is what I used to connect my shield to a Yamaha a s501 amp . Worked for me should work for you . Don’t forget to set usb sound in shield settings .

• I don't think so but I would have look into it. I would try with an optical cable because most components comes with that option.

• Don't think you can do that since there is no USB audio out, out is thru HDMI only. Unless you get a separate HDMI to USB audio extractor.
