absolutely not..you can use an air cooler

You can put an AIO (liquid cooler with a radiator) in the top half or you can run an air cooler for your CPU and use the top for 3 120mm fans. I have this case and I use an AIO 3 120mm fans on the front left corner, 2 140mm fans on the bottom and an single 120mm on the rear. All my fans are set as intakes other than the AIO fans which are set to exhaust. This creates positive pressure in the case which helps to keep dust from settling. I have had 0 heat issues.
