• Yes. Power off, swap chips, power on, then wait for device to verify database index (which it does everytime you power up) and immediately start recording again. Or buy two, and there is no waiting while you swap chips on the one "offline". They come in black or silver.

• I haven't tried direct storage but what I do is connect to my PC and download everything I recorded and then I can send it or place it/them in any file, email, etc. That process happens so fast.
