I just got this in the mail and started playing black ops 4 and the GPU temp topped out at about 82 degrees C. It's really hot and I recommend looking into a cooling system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Playing Battlefield V, my CPU and GPU temps were hitting 85 degrees Celsius. Not good at all!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it is funny that the HP comment was no, this computer was designed to run cool. I've had the computer 3 months and it is shutting down due to overheating. The problem is it may happen after a couple hours of playing, and I don't think the geek squad is going to sit around that long to see it happen. I'll try the afterburner software option first, then if that doesn't work, time to add liquid cooling and some more fans as another person mentioned.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use msi afterburner to set fan curve it keeps my temp around 72c.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have added a liquid cooler for the CPU. I found a great article that explains this step by step in the HP Gaming Computer forums and you can find that article here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/Liquid-Cooling-for-HP-Omen-Obelisk-How-To/m-p/6955809#M4706 I have also added another 120mm case fan on the bottom tray as well for the RTX 2080 GPU to get more air flow into the case. Hope this helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HP still has not come out with a liquid cooler for this computer. Inside the top of this computer is a mounting plate for the fan and radiator. It is held to the computer with 4 Phillips head screws. Mount the fan and radiator first then the cooler on the CPU. Intel BXTS13X Water/Liquid Cooling Thermal Solution This is the only one I could find that had a four pin power connector. The mother board has a dedicated 4 pin plug for liquid cooler.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the system is designed to run cool by HP engineers.
