“does this unit have an optical zoom....or is it digital zoom only?”

• There is an optical zoom. There are 2 adjustments that can be made at the lens of this projector; focus and zoom. My install has the projector approximately 10 feet from the screen. I had to dial way back on the zoom, adjust focus, then use the digital settings to further scale the image down to a 100" screen. The menu has a grid you can project to help with all these adjustments.

• Optical zoom and focus. Not much of a zoom at that either.

• 1.1 manual optical, anything over that will be digital thus lowering brightness. Projector central has a throw calculator that will give you measurements for how big your screen will be at a given distance.
