“The unit work fine even after 4 years but the back of the device is sticky.. It has been cleaned numerous times but still remains sticky to the touch. It feels like the back of the device is dissolving. Any suggestions as to how to correct this”

I've seen this, too. It is likely the plastic deteriorating. No solution I know of except getting a new opener.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Haven't had mine as long so no issues. But the sticky feeling might be coming from a combination of hand oils and spilled wine. Try some "GOO Gone" on a paper towel GENTLY and in a small area first.
