This was one reason for our purchasing the 7 Plus over the 8 Plus device. We did not see wireless charging as an advantage. It appears to be more of an issue for techno types that like new ideas. To us wireless charging means purchasing new devices and spreading them around the house for convenience sake. In addition, from the info we read about wireless charging, the bullet-proof Otterbox Defender series may present a problem, if you are intent on using the wireless charging technology.
