No, belt clip. But I have dropped it a few times and no damage to phone. Really can't say which one is more durable in taking "heavy drops"....

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The commuter is a pretty basic case with no attachments of any kind. The defender is also a great case that will help prevent damage very well with drops. BUT don't forget to put a glass cover on the screen.

The Defender is better protected from drops, however it is MUCH bulkier than the Commuter series. You have to ask yourself if the trade off of increased bulk for the extra protection is worth it to you.
