• You would have to take the phone out of the case. The jack on the square reader isnt long enough to reach into the case to plug into the device.

• This depends on the length of the 3.5 mm aux that is attached to the Square, for earbuds and headphones, I have no problem inserting the aux with the case on. If the square is really short, you may have to take the case off to make it work best. Or you can try the Commuter case, which is thinner than the Defender, and more likely to give you less issues.
