• Of course this will fit because is only two models made by Samsung s8 or s8+ and both are considered as edges there is no more flat screen versions

• I do not think it would. The cases are made specifically for each device. The S8, edge, and S8+ have a different shape.

• Yes! The top and bottom of the case are raised to protect from a drop so the screen doesn't hit the floor, with rounded access to the glass along the sides. I recommend a glass protector - which I have not acquired yet - though, if he's as much of a klutz as I am.
