The newest iPad Pro 12.9" is an amazing technological accomplishment in that Apple managed to make their biggest and best iPad Pro 12.9" housing smaller than ever, yet keep the 12.9" screen size. That means the purchasers of the newly released iPad 12.9" iPad Pro ( November 2018) require a different size case than previous 12.9" iPads. When folks reply that the case fits 1 or 2nd generation it confuses purchasers of the iPad Pro 12.9" November 2018 model.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Otter Box Defender Series For my Apple I Pad Air and it paid for itself in less than a month when I dropped it. Most Times I would be reading or watching Netflix, fall asleep and it would end up on the floor next to my bed. Screen Protection was a big deal to me. Screen Covers are good for protecting your lens but a hard fall will destroy your I - Pad and possibly your Hard Drive. I just bought the new 12.9 Screen I Pad Pro and put the Defender in the order. I had to take it off my old one to fit the box, but shipped it with it. My Sister was expecting used, but thought I had bought her a new one. All I said was be sure and put that otter box on it. My View appears to be two fold, if you aren't worrying about an accident, just get a Screen Protect Lens they are not expensive. If you break one, or bad scratches just replace, but drops you need insulation and screen protection. Duh !!! In answer to your question, I just bought a new one 12.9 and gave my sister my old I Pad Air. Other than size I saw no difference or upgrades. Easy to install, put I Pad in base and flip the screen protection over it, and snap closed. You then put it in the rubber bottom and seal it by pulling the top over the I Pad. For travel it has a top to snap over the bottom that gives it double sealed protection.

I was not exactly sure how to take apart the pierces even though I had the instructions on the back of the package box. I could not tell where each piece snapped together. So I watched several u-tube videos and until I got one where they took the case apart. Then I was able to reassemble and put my iPad Pro in it. The fit is great.
