Hello—the case is not waterproof but it does come with a built in screen protector. I think this is the last model otter box did this with and I wish they would rethink it. It really does offer the best protection too. I have used the defender case with all my iPhones and have dropped them countless times and never had an issue. You will not be disappointed with this case.
