Can the pop socket be swapped out for a custom one? null

As long as it’s part of the Gen 2 sockets (they don’t have the tabs along the underside of the pop socket) that’s how you can tell the Gen 1 (can’t be changed/swapped) from the Gen 2 (can be changed/swapped).

Yes, it is compatible with the current gen popsockets that you can twist off while it is closed/flat

No. The pop is fixed to the case.
