• The case itself does not have a plastic screen to cover the glass of the phone but the sides do come over the screen itself. I still have a screen cover on mine with the case.

• It is not as protective as an Otterbein but does provide some reasonable protection.

• While the case is closed it protects the screen but I would still suggest a screen protector, such as a Zagg or glass shield, while it is in use.

• I had the same question and I'm told the case as an alternative to a screen protector. It's a great protection for the screen and a wonderful stand to prop up the tablet when watching streaming movies.
