Is this a front and back case like the defender null

Just a back case, but covers the edges and wraps far enough around front screen to provide a little extra protection if dropped squarely on the face.

No. This case does not cover the screen. It covers the back and sides and sticks up above the face of the phone all the way around but does not go over the screen at all. I’d recommend a screen protector be used with this case.

This protects the back but has no protection over most of screen. ( I purchased a screen protector separately. ) it does have edges that stick out so the screen does not sit on the table if set down screen side down.

No, it has an edge around the screen but does not offer any other protection for the front there is also a cut out for the camera so it is exposed in the back there are also no port covers like that of the Defender series or Lifeproof lines.
