Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry. Ottlite lamps that charge wireless devices are powered by QI (pronounced chee, from the Chinese word meaning energy flow). Your wireless device must be compatible with the QI system. As well as your wireless device must have wireless charging built into it. Per Ottlite instructions in order to determine if your wireless device is compatible with the Ottlite lamp/device please visit The Wireless Power Consortium website. When the a wireless device is properly placed on the charging port the red indicator light will come on. Center your device on the Qi wireless charging emblem (G) and a red indicator light (H) on top of the base will come on to indicate charging. If the red indicator light begins to flash, your device may not be centered on the charger. Note: The lamp does NOT provide any indication of when the device is fully charged. The first and easiest thing is just to search the internet. “Does the iPhone 6 (or whatever phone/device you have) have wireless charging?” You will see: Then the next question is “What iPhones (wireless device name) have wireless charging?” In regards to the WPC site, it won’t list the iPhone 6 because it’s not compatible, no wireless charging… But if you go here https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/products And search as I did for Ottlite” Or iPhone: You can see what has wireless charging, which the iPhone 8 does but as you can see below, the only items that show up under iPhone 6 are cases from a company named “U-WAY”, there is no actual phone. If the lamp is not operating correctly, or the lamp is not working for how you need to use it please do return the lamp back to where purchased. Hope this helps.
