Does this light use UV-C for disinfecting? null

Thank you for your inquiry. No the lamp does not use UV-C as UV rays are harmful to people. Ottlite Sanitizing lamps use patented SpectraClean Visible Light Disinfection (VLD) technology to continuously sanitize. VLD uses a narrow band of light wavelengths (405mm) to reduce bacteria and other organisms by inactivating them so they cannot reproduce or infect.
