Cannot work upside-down, pan tilt works off of power supplied by plug in only stick up cameras, cannot use battery power and that eliminates solar-power
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You remove the battery and the pan tilt mount inserts into battery compartment but you will need to buy the power cord separately as crazy as that sounds
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It only works plugged in. Solar wont work with this one, its not supposed to be mounted upside down outside, it can take on water.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You loose battery function has to be plugged in
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The mount takes the space of the camera's battery. HOWEVER, it will need a power cord to charge the mount. And from all I have seen, it will not charge off a solar battery as the camera will. And only Ring sells the needed cord. No, you cannot hang it nor any Ring camera upside down with the current designs and functionality. With all of these challenges, I returned my mount.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will only work with a AC barrel adaptor. It replaces one of the battery holes and sends power to the camera. This model does not include an adapter. There are 3 versions sold by Ring. This 1 has no adapter, the 2nd has an indoor AC, the 3rd has an indoor/outdoor adapter. It is far cheaper to buy the version with the adaptor, or no adapter, that you need, because buying the adapter separately is 3x more expensive. I don't think it will work with a solar but if it does then it will only work during the day. I might test out later to confirm. I saw a comment from Ring that you cannot mount camera upside down. I personally think that is just a poor response because it only requires a setting change to the software. So this might change in the future.

It does require one Power Adapter Barrel Plug. Ring sells an indoor only and indoor/outdoor power adapter, so based on where you are installing is the type of cord you'll want to purchase. Here is more information regarding this accessory: https://ring.com/products/pan-tilt-mount. To answer your second question, no, you may not mount the Pan Tilt Mount upside down. Doing so will cause the video footage to be upside down within your Ring app. Ring Community was launched to help deliver the most current news and educational information to our neighbors.
