“During the initial set up phase, I was not able to access the “silent mode” to turn the beep off/on. I pressed the Start/Select button 3 times as instructed, but “BEEP” Does not scroll on display as it is supposed to. Any ideas what could be wrong?”

Hello! You need to plug the microwave into a properly grounded electrical outlet and "WELCOME TO PANASONIC REFER TO OWNER’S MANUAL BEFORE USE" scrolls across display window. First, you need to press Start (Dial) once. "LB-F/KG-C" scrolls across display window and you can select the "LB-F" or "KG-C" by pressing Timer/Clock. After this, press Start (Dial) twice and "LANGUAGE" scrolls across display window. You need to press “Timer/Clock” once for French, twice for Spanish and 3 times for English. After setting, press Stop/Reset to exit. The last step would be to press Start (Dial) 3 times and "BEEP ON/OFF" scrolls across display window. The default mode is On and you need to press Timer/Clock once and the mode changes to Off. After setting, press Stop/Reset to exit.
