“I purchased microwave CD87KS from Best Buy but the corresponding trim kit, NN-TK81KCS is not available. My cabinet is 27"w x 19.5"h x 21"d and the cutout opening is 24.5"w x 17"h. Can I safely operate this microwave in this cabinet without a trim kit?”

I'm operating mine without a trim kit as yet because I tried ordering the trim kit and found it did not work with my 27" wide cabinet opening. I didn't measure it when trying to fit it because the misfit was obvious, but as best I recall the kit probably would work with a 24.5" width. I'd check carefully about the cabinet dimensions required for the kit to make sure it fits. Right now, mine is just sitting in the open cabinet, but I plan to fit a tambour door to conceal it when not in use.
