Hello! You can place the brown rice with hot tap water in a microwave-safe casserole dish. Cover with a lid or vented plastic wrap. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. We encourage you to check the Sensor Cook Chart in the operating manual for more details. Hope this helps! -C

We have already been waiting 2 weeks for a replacement. We had to write to the Better Business Bureau because after 15 days there is no warranty from Best Buy, I would not recommend this microwave or Best Buy to anyone. As far as the brown rice cook option, I do not know, since our Brand-New microwave does not work at all. I would recommend any microwave before this one.
