Please try again later.Silver and gold edges on plates are manufactured by painting a silver or gold containing ink on the plate and then firing it in a kiln to decompose the organic ink components leaving a pure metal bonded to the ceramic. Unless this metal decoration is covered with a clear ceramic coating to insulate the metal, the decorative metal is conductive and will arc in the microwave and will probably discolor as oxidation takes place. So the short answer is "don't use these plates in any microwave ".
