Hi, Dave! With this product, you can conveniently shave in or out of the shower; Built-in, pop-up trimmer edges and details mustaches, beards and sideburns. In order to do this, slide the trimmer handle up, then turn the shaver on and place at a right angle to your skin and move downwards to trim your sideburns. Hope this helps! -C
