Both can use it because my wife uses mine too.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not a woman, but I don't see why it couldn't be used by a woman. It would easily handle any shaving tasks based on experience with my face. I have VERY thick facial hair from my upper cheek to my lower neck, which my neck is where my skin is most tender. But, the stubble is just as thick (or thicker). This product doesn't irritate my skin very much - even having to rake it back and forth to get my neck shaved. It can be used in the shower - so it should be a very good fit for women with a need to groom.

I can say that the performance of this shaver is far superior to anything I've used in the past with the exception of a straight edge blade! I love Braun razors, but think the performance of this is superior to the 5 Series I also own. My only complaint is that the build seems cheap compared to the Braun; lots of plastic!
