Hello boy landline sure means something different now a days. I have Xfinity as my provider and it doesn't have the old fashioned plug in a telephone cord option. According to them it's works by wifi so they say I only plug the base to electric outlet? null

Hi Chris! The Panasonic phones cannot be connected through wifi, however, you can use a telephone cable between your router from Xfinity and plug it in the Panasonic base. -A

This is true. You have to connect the phone to the WiFi box!

That's because there are no true landlines like we had years ago.  Today what we refer to as landlines are really VOIP.
