Hi! You can actually use both the answering machine and the voicemail system, at the same time. You just need to set the number of rings for each one. For example, if you want your answering machine to pick up at 4 rings, set the ring count to 4, and then set the voicemail ring count to a higher number. This is in case you are already on the phone talking to someone else, the voicemail can pick up as a second option. -A
