how does the answering machine alert you that you have a message? Don't want any thing that is audible! The one that I have beeps and can't be muted and it drives me crazy. Would prefer a unit that just flashes. null

It just shows you the number of messages you have in the display on the base charging unit. For exap[me, if you have 2 new messages, it shows a red 2. If you have 0 messages, it shows a red 0. No audible sounds.

Hello. When new messages have been recorded, the message indicator on the base unit flashes. The audible message alert can be turned off with MENU #339. -G
