This camera has a remarkable telephoto. I think the specs on the plastic lens says 1200mm but I am not sure. My own skills dictate that might be a little bit much. I would not want to try extending it that far. Stay within whatever safe zone works for you. The trick here is the higher the zoom, you have to be careful of the depth of field. That means your Fstop has to stay high. On the older Nikons it was F22 or F16 len settings. That also affects your exposure and I think the max on that lenses is F5. plus. So if you are using the telephoto past about 150 mm the focus might get a little bit tricky.
