Hello Jon! The FZ80D camera has a 18.1 MP sensor and a 60x optical zoom, which would ensure good performance in low light. To achieve the best low-light performance we would recommend setting the ISO as low as possible to minimize noise, and using a tripod as well to ensure stability. Hope this helps! - S
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need an Fstop of about 2.8. Anything more than that and you are likely to run into exposure problems. Also you could end up with long exposure shutter speeds. F2.8 is not on the default lens. I think it stops at either F4 or F4.5. The old Nikon F with a 55MM lens could go all the way to 1.4 at one time. But using a depth of field that low is chancy at best. I did a lot of that kind of thing in my 20s. And I used a Polaroid Model 180 with a real F4.5 through about F16 with 75 ASA color to gauge the actual exposure. It was a lot better than a meter to learn on.
