Yes, the Panasonic player can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi and hard wired to your home theater receiver. I bought 2 of these Panasonic 4K players, one connected to Wi-Fi and Onkyo 5.1 receiver via HDMI, the second player is hard wired to the modem via ethernet cable, connected to TV and Onkyo 7.2.2 using HDMI cables, and to the cable box with an optical cable.
