“I have a Samsung 3D capable th, that I have played 3d bluray discs on. My samsung BD payer doesn't function anymore. Will this play 3d discs faithfully?”

Yes. From the manual, "3D videos and 3D still pictures can be played back when this unit is connected to a 3D compatible TV using a High Speed HDMI Cable"

Please try again later.I try ever 4K Blu-ray player's with the last flag ship 3D LG 10-bit panel, and 10-processor LCD 65UH9500 (2016) this is the Best 4k player out there and maybe ever will be with 3D Blu-ray and 3D material everything look better then IMAX 3D on almost every movie I try with this player. Panasonic excellent job. Too bad there will never be another 3D TV made, or even a limited edition 3D TV for enthusiast.
