Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This player will play any DVD (480i or 480p) Bluray (1080p) and 4k bluray (4k). However it will not play HDDVD (1080p) as that format is long dead like Betamax. That being said, if anyone still have a burning desire to watch HDDVD movies, their best chance will be to hunt down a XBOX 360 and its HDDVD attachment. I can still find mint condition units of HDDVD attachment in auction sites from time to time.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. However, the player is really designed to play 4K and Blu-Ray disks. Add to the mix a very HQ TV and the regular DVDs look pretty crappy.
