QuestionI'm interested in using this player for Dolby Vision movies. I came across a couple reviews stating that the Panasonic Blu ray players were not able to use the Dolby Vision feature when connected to Sony Bravia tv's (XR-77A80J) . Is this true?

- Answer Are you sure the noise is coming from the player? Check you physical connections,you may have your speaker wires reversed or they may be out of phase. Or,it may be a prolem with the player.Hard to tell. It could be problem with the connection to the monitor.Make sure you are using a high speed 4-8K HDMI cable,Some of them can be hooked up backwards. Some have arrows on the ends for outbound and inbound directions,same as good subwoofer cables. I hope I helped. C.M.

QuestionI own a Panasonic Blue Ray home theater SC-BT235 from 2009. I am buying this Panasonic DP-UB9000P1K unit to replace it, but want to use 5 speakers from the old unit. The manual is not clear that these old speakers work with the new unit, watts limit.

- Answer This unit just runs through your receiver, no amp built in.Shouldn't matter what kind of speakers,as long as they work with your receiver. C.M.

QuestionThis is supposed to be like the next Oppo. I had an Oppo once, which worked great except for once in a while it would freeze midway through specific blu-ray movies. Have there been any similar reported problems with this?

QuestionI hear so much that the 820 and the 9000 have the same internal components and the only main difference is the 9000 is metal cover and the 820 is mostly plastic and price difference. Since the 820 have several issues, wouldn't the 9000 have the same?

In the end I bought the Panasonic because it got better reviews for the audio side of things. I have a large collection of CDs, and a fair number of FLAC music files. I wanted to get the player with the best DAC performance for for pure audio. I am extremely satisfied with the Panasonic's sound reproduction for audio media and audio files, despite its inability to play SACDs (of which I have several). And I've never seen or heard more spectacular Blu-Ray and 4K playback.

- Answer The unit has the Shuffle option. However, please take note that it cannot play MP4. The only media played in MP4 is USB devices.

QuestionLooking at the UB9000. Is it correct that I can connect this via HDMI for video and connect the analog to say "CD" setting on the receiver if I want to play CD's and take full advantage of the DAC in the 9000 & just change the input on the receiver?

QuestionJust got Ip Man UltraHD Collect.. Put 1st UHD disc into the DP-UB9000, it complains "unable to read". Pop it into Xbox one X, reads great. Likewise, UHD Man of Steel a no go in reading on XBOX but works great on DP-UB9000. Is new FW needed? At V1.64
