• Even though one of the screens is also the dvd player, it needs a car charger outlet for playing... no battery available.

• Yes one unit is self contained with player in back of it. It loads from the top.

• This unit is not suitable for airplane use. It does not have any batteries and must be plugged in to operate. The player is embedded in the clamshell behind the main screen.

• Not for plane- must be plugged in. All one unit with an extra screen perfect for extra kid!
