Can these connect to 2.4 and 5ghz wifi? null

they connect to your Philips Hue Hub....you need that first. Pretty sure that is 2.4 only...most smart home products are like that.

Yes it can but maybe a guest WIFI connection would work for you. Putting all your WIFI smart devices on guest could give you another level of protection with a different password.

They connect to your Wi-Fi through the Hue hub - cannot work independently without the hub. One hub can potentially handle 50 Hue smart bulb devices(bulbs, strips, etc.). The hue hub plugs directly into your home router with a standard RJ45 cable (included with hub). I have a dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz router and the system works fine with it.

The Hub connects to your router, from there as long as your phone connects to either the 2.4 or 5ghz wifi, it will work (even if you have no internet). Mostly just depends on your phone
