You have to have the philips hue bridge while purchasing any philips hue product. The only instance in which you do not have to have the bridge is with the Amazon Echo Plus / Show second gen. They have it built in. If you don’t want to have to use a bridge, you will have to purchase C by GE lightbulbs!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey Sandy you will need the hue hub to set up the lights. Each jub can control 50 lights. I'd recommend getting one of the starter kits that comes with the hub and a few light bulbs. Once you get the hub you can link the Phillips hue hub to your Google home through the Google home app. You can then name your light bulbs or group them into rooms. Hope this helps.
