It's tricky. I was able to use a dimmer switch (all the way up) at my previous apartment with no problems. However, I wasn't abel to use my Hue bulbs at my new place with a dimmer switch. I had to replace the switch with the non-dimmer type. Be careful, I had to learn the hard way, for some reason, my light fixture blew out two of my bulbs when I used a dimmer switch. Bottom line, it's best not to use a dimmer switch.
