Yes, Philips generally keeps older products working for some time, although they won't necessarily support all the latest features. But just changing colors together should be fine at a minimum.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use my Gen 1 bulbs with the Gen 2 hub without a problem. The bulb capabilities will only be as wide ranging as the hub they are synced to but everything has been plug and play compatible thus far.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My understanding is the only thing that changed in the 3rd generation was the bulbs. I was told the actual hub is the same so they are interchangeable. Hope that helps you.
