How do I tell if the Lightstrip is the new model, with the better LEDS, or the old model? null

The new model is the Philips Hue Light Strip Plus. If you don't see the Plus at the end of the name, then it's the original model. Hope this helps.

It will say "Lightsprip Plus" on the box.

These are noticeably thicker (width) than the first gen strips, also these have two pieces that connect. Gen 1 was a continuous strip and plug all connected.

There's a different ending to connect the strip together with an extension pack. You can see the newer ones on the package lol like they'd connect. Also If you look at the older model it has a long cord and it wrapped around a clear wheel.The newer one didn't. The newer one has a bigger plug at he end than the older.newer light strip is also thicker.
