“Why are there are two completely different types of Lightstrips? One I purchased has a Fixed Round Cable coming out of the small control box leading to light strip another has a Removable Flat Cable? Any difference in light colors/output between them?”

round is more heavy duty for outdoors flat for indoors thats what i was told

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If I recall correctly from researching before my purchase, it is a difference between generations. The ones that are fixed to the control box are the second generation which, supposedly, have brighter colors. The ones that have everything separate are part of the first generation.
