This is an extension that attaches to a regular Hue light strip. You will need the regular strip for this to work.

I originally thought the same thing but I guess that's how Phillips gets you. Wait until black Friday to buy the full light strip, that's what I did. Hopefully, that answers your question.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, So you need to connect the strip to a plus module. The extensions are intended to lengthen the “plus” strip. If I were doing the back of a TV I would probably by 2 pluses or a plus and 1 or two extensions. You’ll also need the bridge. Here’s an example. I have a long cabinet and use the plus strip with multiple extensions to light the hole thing. You can see the WiFi module and the extensions. I wish Philips made extensions that were 80 inches long. But they only come in shorter segments
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The only way this will work is: Bridge- $65.00 plus Philips Hue LightStrip Plus- &85.00. This will NOT WORK: Bridge plus extensions. (There’s nothing to plug the extensions into) You need the LightStrip Plus to plug the extensions into. Hope this helps

Without the kit, I do not see a way that you could plug this in or controll it as it simply connects to the end of the main string (no standard power connector nor controller with this extension strip).
