Does it do colors or just plain white? null

It is a white light that will illuminate different Hues, from a Bright Light Hue of Blue to a Dimmed Hue of a off-white close to a very light brown tone.

The bulb that comes with this lamp is the white "ambiance" bulb and can be set from warm 2200K to cool 6500K. There are also plain white Hue bulbs can be dimmed but do not change color. There are also the color "ambiance" bulbs that can display any of 16 million colors

That ultimately depends on what Hue bulb is placed into the lamp. It comes with the Hue White Ambiance bulb so does many different shade of white light. A color ambiance bulb could be placed in the lamp as well to do actual colors.
