• For safety reasons, it won't work while plugged in. You can, however, let it charge for 'bout 10 minutes to be able to shave once with it; without having to wait for a full charge.

• yes I shave with cord when battery is low and it speeds up the blades

• Bob, to be honest Ihave always unplugged it to use it especially when I am in the shower. It is easier to handle without the plug for me and it recharges really quickly.
