Hi Ron. Check page 8 of the receiver’s manual. It goes through the speaker specs: if one pair of speakers used: 4 to 16 ohms each is ok. If two sets of speakers used: 8 to 16 ohms is ok. If you connect speakers with 4 or more but less than 6, press SETUP (P7) on your remote, and set SP impedance to 4 ohms. I use Bostons and JBL on my systems, the only bookshelf pair being Boston but Bostons have been discontinued, so your choice of speakers at your favorite hifi store in the above appropriate ohms should do the trick.
