“6 ohms impedance speakers w/ 8 ohms amp I currently have a 10 yr. old amp (Pioneer VSX-D812) and looking at these Pioneer Floor Speakers, which are 6 ohm impedance. The manual notes w/ an 'Important' icon: "Use speakers with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms to 16 ohms". Is that a recommendation? Do you foresee any issues w/ this set-up? Thanks for any responses and advice.”

• I am using an old Onkio amp that pumps out 8 ohms and these 6 ohm speakers sound great, no sweat for your amp to power these speakers, my 8 ohm amp sounds great!

• I have seen amps die because the speakers are the wrong impedence. I would follow the manual's guidelines.
