“Why is my DVD player not playing DVDs? says " Viewing of Front seat video source while driving is strictly prohibited??? Did I not do something or was it installed improperly???”

You have to have you parking brake set to watch dvds. Or you can just ground the parking brake wire coming from the head unit

Why are you all assuming that his parking brake is not set. I just had a new stereo installed,MY PARKING BREAK IS SET! And I get the same message

Because it's not legal in most places Best Buy company policy is to not set your car up for this. If the radio is installed properly you can't watch a DVD without a parking bypass. Most local car audio shops will install a bypass for you, you'd have to call for a price.

It's a Federal law that you have to have the parking brake on to watch DVDs.

If I am not mistaken, you can only play dvds when your emergency brake is engaged.
