“My stock tuner has Sirius xm built into the unit and just touch the logo on screen. With this unit not having that is it an option to use the Sirius xm app from the iPhone? Wouldn't this save an unneeded cost of some sort of adapter?”

Within Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you should be able to access the SiriusXM application. If you want to use the factory tuner, then you would need to get some sort of interface adapter. In this case, please work with Best Buy’s Geek Squad. They will verify the fit and assist you with any additional accessories you may need.
