PAL is an old tuner standard in Europe for "over the air" channels and not used anymore there. Europe now uses DVB however most still consider it PAL. This TV will work in Europe for streaming over the internet, just not with an antenna as this tuner is ATSC for American "over the air" (antenna) channels.
