• I was able to retain steering wheel controls by using an after market harness

• Not thru the radio itself, you would have to purchase a Steering Wheel control adapter. It can plug into the Remote Control port or the dedicated Steering Wheel control port on the radio. I purchased the Maestro SW ($46) and it is easy to set up. Go to their website and download programming to the unit and get wiring instructions, Connect power, ground, 1 wire to control in car and plug into radio.
